View the earth from many different satellites orbiting the earth, for which you know latitude, longitude and altitude.
This is a really neat site. NORAD/NASA is the government agency from the movie
"War Games". You can view either a map of Earth showing the day and night regions at this moment, or view the Earth from the Sun, the
Moon, the night side of the Earth, above any location on the planet specified by latitude, longitude and altitude, from a satellite
in Earth orbit, or above various cities around the globe. To view the Earth as currently seen from a satellite in Earth orbit, choose the satellite from the list and press the "View Earth from Satellite" button. The satellite database is updated regularly but may not reflect the current position of satellites, such as the U.S. Space Shuttle, Ariane,..., which maneuver frequently after reaching orbit. |

| World images | Microsoft TerraServer, the comment takes a much more literal meaning and offers users an unprecedented view of Earth. TerraServer, a double-play on words--'Terra' referring to Earth and 'tera' referring to the 3.5 terabytes of uncompressed images on the site. It provides millions of searchable aerial photographs and satellite images from the US Geological Survey and Russian mapping satellites respectively... These images, previously available only at a high cost for professional use, were obtained from SOVINFORMSPUTNIK, an arm of the Russian Space Agency, through a joint venture with Aerial Images and the U.S. Geological Survey, the federal agency responsible for map-quality images of Earth. It will cover almost the entire globe down to 1 meter resolution — good enough to find a house on a street. |

With Vancouver cams, I have have covered "from coast to coast" cameras for Canada. The OZ FM Skycam updates every 5 minutes and overlooks St.John's Harbour and the southeast area of the city. It pans the harbour, Quidi Vidi Lake, Fort Amherst and The Narrows, and out to sea as far as Cape Spear, the most easterly point of land in North America. At various times you'll see the city, icebergs, ships,... In the event of rain, snow, freezing rain, low cloud, fog, heavy fog, really heavy fog, or all of them together you'll see absolutely nothing. The cam is on the roof of the Battery Hotel. |

Browsers across the world can now access the images 24 hours a day.
Montreal is the first major metropolitan centre to use such a network
